I have recently gotten a new horse, I have had him about 4 months, and am not sure on colours for him. My previous horse was a much lighter chestnut and our colours were light grey and burgundy. I am not sure it will suit him as well and thought Id ask some advice. :) Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

Dark green always goes well on a chestnut. Stay well away from anything red, it makes them look washed out, whereas green compliments the colour.

I've just seen a photo of a chestnut with a headcollar the same blue colour as your collar in the first pic. Looked super!

Thanks for all the advice everyone :). Love all the suggestions, but have narrowed down my favourites to a light blue or dark green (like my BP), thanks buddylove! I might just have to get a set of each colour as I can't decide between the two! :D

I rather like red on my orange one: (lhotse - she isn't washed out in this - she is a pale lemony chestnut colour when clipped :p)

We have some beige too

Bright yellow looks good too. We also have some black and navy stuff, but to be honest I find them a bit dull compared to the nice bright colours :)

Thanks for that Abbeygale. She does look lovely in red, shes a similar colour chestnut to the boy I had before this one and he suited red too, not sure how it would look on a darker chestnut though?

She goes quite a lot darker than that in her summer coat - but I have found with the red stuff that it looks ok if it is super super bright red. She has now got a whole selection of red stuff - red head collar, red thermatex, red stable rugs, the list goes on!! lol

But I think I just prefer the loud colours rather than the muted ones to be honest - I have some pictures of her all in black, and she looks quite dull! lol (I just put them on the black numnah on a chestnut horse thread)

Thanks Guys. I think my sister has a dark green numnah hiding somewhere in the house, so I'll maybe try and borrow it to try on him and see how it looks :). The lime green is definitely different!
