Colours to suit a blue roan

Hi guys,
I have just bought a new pony and she is a blue roan, but I don't know what colours will suit her. What colours do you have on yours?

Wow, she’s beautiful! Personally, I don‘t own a blue roan, but I know lots, and looking at her, I think coral or dark teal. Just my opinion!

Download the “Dress my horse” app, you can upload a picture on there and then put the various colours on to see what would suit ? it’s mostly Lemieux, ES and the likes of those but you can get an idea of colours to suit! See picture for an idea

Mine isn't a blue roan, but I guess she has similar tones in her coat. She looks good in most bold colours. I tend to stay away from anything wishy washy with her.

Equito. Any of theirs but the Hazelnut one and also the black with gold trim would look great.



The new PS of Sweden red (can look a bit pink in some lighting) would be nice and bright for hacking.

Mine is blue roan and be aware they change colour A LOT through the year! Mine is a similar colour to yours early summer and then almost black now! I have mine in blue at the moment, I agree with a previous poster bold colours look good. I wouldn't do browns/champagne etc. I'm desperate for the le mieux mint and blackcurrant!

Mine's passported as blue roan but is actually dark bay with a lot of rabicano roaning. She suits strong, deep colours best - orange, purple, raspberry, hunter green. Nothing pale or grey.

Is that a NF pony? Lovely sort, I am a traditionalist and would have a black numnah but it could have a contrasting edging perhaps, silver?

My blue roan used to change quite a bit with the seasons. We didn't have colours back then (brown or white, occasionally black!!) but essentially, if yours does this too, you'll be able to wear something different every few weeks if that's your fancy! I reckon she could pull most colours off and look smart.

I'd say navy, royal blue, purple and probably turquoise would look great. I'd avoid anything in the brown/beige/orange spectrum.
