The other day, Rhino kindly explained to me the colour genetics behind a chestnut Freisian which I found fascinating (thanks
)
I also saw a piebald be referred to as a black tobiano (this could be wrong, I'm trying my best to remember..)
And basically, I feel very old and behind the times with my understanding of colourings. I still call them piebalds, skewbalds etc. But since coming on HHO I've seen reference to sabino, tobiano, dilutions etc and I'd love to know more.
As far as my neds go, I've got chestnuts and dark bays... are these still called chestnuts and dark bays?
Would anyone mind giving me a summary of horse colours and genetics, or give me a link to a site that can teach a dummy?
A slurp of my yummy hot chocolate if you do
