The other day, Rhino kindly explained to me the colour genetics behind a chestnut Freisian which I found fascinating (thanks :) )

I also saw a piebald be referred to as a black tobiano (this could be wrong, I'm trying my best to remember..)

And basically, I feel very old and behind the times with my understanding of colourings. I still call them piebalds, skewbalds etc. But since coming on HHO I've seen reference to sabino, tobiano, dilutions etc and I'd love to know more. :o

As far as my neds go, I've got chestnuts and dark bays... are these still called chestnuts and dark bays? :D

Would anyone mind giving me a summary of horse colours and genetics, or give me a link to a site that can teach a dummy?

A slurp of my yummy hot chocolate if you do :)
