Hi everyone bit of advice please i'm getting a 6mth old colt & filly in november how long can they be kept together or should i get the colt gelded before i get him he's not coltish at the moment and didn't know whether to leave him for a bit to let him chunk out he's a heavyweight gypsy cob

You won't be able to geld him until he's dropped which might be a while.
Mares don't usually come into season until about 15mths old so don't worry about her getting preggers!
As long as he's not colty I'm sure they would be ok until he has dropped, but get him done soon as then.
Do beware though... I saw a 2mth old colt with his willy out on top of a filly the other day!
They start young these days... Haha

I knew of a filly that foaled at 22 months old - she was impregnated at 10 months old by a colt the same age she briefly shared a paddock with...!!

Don't take any chances.

Plus I've seen randy horses try it on with mares not in season. Whilst it won't result in pregnancy, it isn't pleasant for the filly.
