Colt FREE to good home (another one)

poor thing, sutton coldfield is not far from me, i wish i could have him. Wouldnt be the first unhandled yearling colt we took on. Nothing to tow with at the moment.

TBH unhandled are often a lot easier than the ones other people have messed up!! We have had two virtually unhandled and one totally, and they were a piece of cake. My poor little 'well-handled' mature pony OTOH.. what a mess she was!

I hope he finds a good home, but somehow I doubt it.

if you want him i will happily pick him up and deliver him in my lorry. My yard is next door to sutton coldfield

Really agree with this. I used to work at a equine rescue centre, the ones that beat up/roughly handled took years to get right. The ones that weren't looked after ie no handling at all, a few months in and they would trust you.

I'm currently going though the second situation with my youngester, and he has come on leaps in the last month. Leads, ties up, lunges (5mins twice a week, just to get him more forward thinking as he is a mummies boy) picks up feet etc.

if only I had my own land I take in all the waifs and strays.
FDC

same here FDC, i dare not look at the ads at the moment as there are just far too many cheap youngsters out there:(
have been seeing a little mini stallion on a free-ad site over the last month, started at £250 and price has dropped over the weeks until last week he was free to anyone who wanted him or he was going to be turned loose:mad:

There are none like this in Kent - I am after a yearling to keep mine company and everyone wants a fortune for their colt out of a 3 legged mare by a broken down stallion. I would love a free/cheap colt - unhandled doens't bother me

Zoon
shame you werent at ashford auction last week then . Prices for sec a type were £35 up. Lovely little grey colt went for 60.
Might be worth contacting the auctioneers and see what didnt sell at all.
