Combined Training?? How is it marked...

I did combined training today at local show and did an appalling dressage test! somehow with my clear round I managed to place 5th! How is it scored? ie points wise?

Apparently I was sitting 7th after dressage but managed to claw my way up as he jumped clear but just wondered if certain number of points are allocated per jump or if its a set figure?

Also won the handy pony!! ha ha ha!! At 38 that was an achievement!!

Two ways.

Method one, take the good dressage score, & deduct any show jumping penalties, so the higher the score the better the place.

Method two, take the bad dressage score (the penalty mark) & add any SJ penalties, hence the lower the score the better the place.

I always use method two, but you'd get the same result regardless.
