Combined Training Report...........

Pootled off to Vale View on Saturday to do Combined Training (BE101 and 90cms), well Zara was rather fresh and proceeded to buck across the car park when I first got on, this horse is 16 and should know better, but think she was happy to be out, warmed up very tense and spooking at everything even a leaf on the ground, so yes I did have an exciting test......... Went in and produced a rather tense and unsettle test only good thing that came out of it was the last canter and a square halt, other than that she was a monkey, her walk was a skip and hop, I was just grinning away to myself, what more could I do. Anyway on to the jumping, Zara thought this was more like it and popped round for just 4 faults and that was my fault, why didn't I take that extra pull into the style, oh well never mind, we finished 11th, so not last as I expected and to be honest it was good fun.......

Sounds like fun. I was going to go the January one - were there many there? I was going to do the Novice but I bet ALL the eventers will be there after Christmas, getting some pre-season practice in.

Was about 15/20 in the intro and don't think there was many in the novice, still will be worth going.......

Oh yes have your thermals, it was freezing......

No warm up was inside and everything else was outside, jumping in the arena at back of indoor and dressage to the side.......

Is ALWAYS colder at VV than anywhere else though!!

Well done though not a bad result at all....we shall be wandering down end of Jan prob to start jumping again... sounds like Zara thought it was a laugh!!

Oh she did, she's not into this stressage lark bless her...........

Thinking of taking Millie and Spur to the next one, but just to do the dressage, although not sure I can cope with two and the freezing cold..........
