I'm hoping to ease my youngster into more competition/Eventing environment. So I am considering combined training get him used doing a test and jumping.

Can someone explain how it works as I have never done it before!

How long would you expect to have between test and sj? I assume it is dr first then sj?
Do you do a jump off?
How is it scored?

Any tips would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

My daughter has just done a combined training at a local equestrian centre! Was very well run & pretty laid back! Dressage times were given the day before! Once dressage done you went jump your round, no rush & in your own time.

Dressage scored as normal & jumping scored by number of faults, no jump off and scores were combined to give placings. Daughter really enjoyed it.

^^ same as above. I was given dressage time a few days before and they then said that everyone in my class could jump between a specified time so you could take your time if you wanted to. It was a lot less manic than a normal showjumping day as the rounds were really spaced out. They converted our dressage scores into penalties and then added any jump faults to come to a final score. The jump course was nice and simple :-) I really enjoyed it!
