Agree with above.
They need a system of reserving a slot in a class before ballot for say £10, full details and payment due before late entry date.
Would not be difficult to organise with internet entries.
 
I completely agree with this I have one horse this year who has entered 5 events, withdrawn from 2 and got no money back and ended up going to one just for the dressage as no chance of my money back.

What annoys me more are the ones that say 'oh yes we have a waitlist but we need more people to withdraw before we can replace you' grrr . . surely it should be a case of one withdrawn, one accepted. Why should they accept entries they cannot run? Another event even asked for the extra money for a change on rider despite the fact I had lost all my entries fees with another horse.
