I think he looks Welsh/Arab though if he was a straight cross I assume they'd say so. He probably is 12hh or thereabouts, if sellers are inaccurate about height they usually claim animals are bigger than they really are. I quite like him.

Has a lovely action in the last vid in the field.
Mind you Dave does that in the field. I don't think I'll ever replicate it ridden!

Looks Welsh/Arab/Show Pony possibly? One of them or a bit of everything.

Pony possibly looks a bit weird as is on a slanted surface...

Not great photos but I am always surprised by horse and pony heights. We have a mare on the yard with a small adult owner/rider. In photos, she looks like a 15.2hh sports horse. In real life she's 13.2hh at a push. The owner is just that little, but because everything is in proportion on pictures it all looks right. That lady would make a 12.2hh look a much bigger pony, easily. ... equally I have turned up with clients to enough horses advertised at 15.2/16hh only to find it's 14.2hh at a push ... I think hands are a made-up unit that nobody really knows how to use without lhc.

Not sure how we're supposed to judge height from that photo or if it's a Welsh A cross. The pony could be both of those things (that height and cross). This picture proves nothing for or against that, really.

I've seen some crosses turn out straight up odd or really favor the traits of one breed, sire, or dam.

I'm not about to go, omg no way, off of this photo alone, personally.

I don’t understand why sellers lie over height. A bit like men on dating apps who all claim to be over 6 foot, when it’s the first thing you notice on arrival…

In the above post I didn’t mean the seller of this pony is lying, BTW. But like Miss Tyc, I’ve turned up to view horses that are way smaller than advertised.

I just watched the video. My youngster is currently 12.2hh and I'm 5ft2 and look a similar height against him as the girl in the video looks against that pony.

At a guess I'd say pony is more likely to be a section B cross with arab or riding pony. B's can look very show pony. I'm not a fan of the head, neck, shoulder ratio on this pony it just isn't in proportion.

I had a section a x arab who was 14.2hh and looked like a connie. She was papered so that was genuinely her breeding.

This was shared on my facebook page,(don't know why) I just wanted others thoughts having a welsh A myself and this did not look like a cross or pure *A* that we have ever had on the yard, maybe a B as we had one before as livery.

Quite honest I personally have more on my mind than arguing over this. My mother is approaching EOL I don't know how much longer we will have her in our lives , I am in the pipe line for knee surgery and have to be at Hospital.

Have a good day all, keep those ponies hydrated, and yourselves.

Haven't opened the link as can't on this computer but from the photo in the post I so no earthly reason why not?? You don't know what the rest of its breeding is do you? Some people clearly don't have enough to worry about in their own lives.
