Comfort bridle - advice please

It may just be that the browband is too short and is pulling the headpiece into her ears?
If not, I have a Shires Avignon bridle which is padded and cut away for the ears which seems very comfortable for my horse to wear.

Yes, browbands are often too short. My gelding is 15.1hh approx and has a small head, yet he needs a 17 inch browband which is often called 'extra full'.

I have a kieffer comfort bridle that has lasted well (still polishes up nicely and it is 9 years old and is well used) and it has a nice padded headpiece.

It depends on your budget!

Heritage do quite nice comfort bridles for the price, it lasted me about a year and a half before it started to look worn.

I bought an English Bridles flat padded comfort bridle and it's excellent, I love it. Quite expensive, but great quality.

us and our tricksy Arabs! mines the same, weeny cob face except for the whopping xl brow, little mutant :)

i use a lovely Barefoot bridle , the Wellington, padded and shaped and i can swap to bitless if i want, super comfy

I would recommend checking if the comfort headpiece has holes cut into it or if it has loops sewn on, personally I don't like the ones with holes cut into the actual headpiece as it looks like a weak spot to me. I've got one from Evision, I've only had it two years but so far so good.

Oooh that sounds interesting. *toddles off to look at BF bridles*

very true, I know of at least 2 court cases involving breakages of these type of headpieces

Really like Evison equine bridles. Their website doesn't show them to their best I don't think. I bought one recently after seeing my friends horses wearing them and I'm really happy with it.

I tried to buy a bridle from Evison... my order kept being delayed and I was having to chase them and ask why. In the end, I had to cancel my order after waiting 12 weeks :( then I had to chase for my refund! I was so disappointed as was really looking forward to getting the bridle :(

Oh that's disappointing. I bought mine at Blair but my friend bought hers over the phone and said they were really helpful as her horse isn't a standard size.

I know - and going from their reputation, I'm definitely the odd one out! Just unlucky I guess.

Thanks for all your advice, I'm going to start with a bigger browband and if that doesn't help I think I might try the Barefoot Wellington if my bank balance can take it!

it's nice isn't it?! might be cheaper if you look in Europe, Belgium or Germany, the exchange rate favours you at the moment.
iv'e got the Devon Barefoot too and the Jewel , they made me a special sized browband for my mutant horse but i'm not certain if they still do this, i think you may just get away with a bigger browband and then all you have to do is find a nice padded one without bling ( they ALL have sparkly bits now, of course you may indeed like a bit of bling!!) xx

While I have no problems with the bridle I bought from Evision two years ago, I did contact them over a month ago with a question as I was thinking of buying a second for my other horse and I've still not heard back from them.

If comfort is what you are looking for in a bridle, you cant go past Flexible Fit Equestrian bridles. They are designed for the ultimate comfort of the horse which I have found to be absolutely true. My horse had headshaking issues and the headpiece design with gel made it much more comfortable for him. :)

Highly recommend Evison, I have had a few from them and have been very impressed by the quality.
Am contemplating getting another and I'm sure I'll purchase from them again.
