I would like to buy a brown comfort/elevator style bridle for Ted. He has a black albion competition snaffle (comfort style), which I love to bits but its the wrong colour as his new saddle is brown.

I've seen a couple of comfort bridles on ebay that look nice and very reasonably priced. I don't have huge amounts of money to spend (around £50). He already has 2 very nice bridles just the brown one isn't comfort style, which I would prefer. However its my birthday and much to my family and friends dismay, I want to spend any birthday money on stuff for Ted.

I like the Heritage comfort flash bridle and dales saddlery -nut, gold and tan bridles on ebay, but given that they are very reasonably priced, I'm not sure what the quality will be like, obviously I don't expect it to be anything like his albion given the price differences. But wondered if anybody had bought either of these and if so whether they would recommend them or another cheapish comfort bridle?

A friend bought the Heritage comfort bridle and loved the quality. 2 of the other girls at the yard also bought them too after seeing hers! All the same colour - black, so I hope they don't get muddled up! This was over a year ago and as far as I know all bridles have lasted well.

I have a Heritage bridle and the quality is lovely, and it's much admired...however...it's got a few strange things about it. One, mine always seems a bit squint - but I honestly think it's just not broken in all the way yet - it's only been on about a dozen times or so before my mare went off work. It fits new horse, so we'll see how it goes. The other weird thing is that it's a cob size bridle - and everything fits - but for some strange reason teh cheek pieces are nearly at the top holes to fit (on both my horses - which you'd think fine, they both have small heads)...and yet the throat lash is at the bottom hole for both horses - and neither one is thick through that area!

However, despite these quirks, I still feel the bridle work is lovely and well worth the £50 odd for it.

I had the comfort Heritage and thought it was lovely for the price. The little badge fell off the browband eventually but that was the only fault with it and that was after a year or so.

Ted's albion competition snaffle is cob size but not in fantastic condition, somehow the part where the nose band does up has got a tear all the way through the leathe up to half way along the strapr, but does up fine and I've lost the flash strap, as Ted doesn't really need this.

Well I have just chosen a heritage bridle out what with these rave reviews, my OH needed to get one final present for my birthday and as my mare was strong tonight I need something a bit better! Can't wait till it turns up now :D

i have the dales tack one, if you look closely the horse in the middle of my sig is wearing it, the only issue i had was that the reins are a bit short (but then my horse is a giant), i think they are just standard length? but the bridle is an xfull, the quality is good though used pretty much daily for last year and a bit and still looks like new
