does anyone elso groan aloud as soon as the commentator says, brilliant rider, brilliant horse, here comes a clear round, if he stays on 4 we will have a jump-off etc etc, how many times did we hear that from a prominent tv commentator this afternoon, it ruins it for me, the rider doing commentary with him, tried his best to stop him...but oh no there goes another one!!!!

Agreed, and Stephen Hadley was the absolute expert at doing this

to be fair to both Stephen hadley and Andy Austin, it was not them so much, but "the other one".....he does it at badminton to, I watch that with sound turned down!!!

I did the opposite today - I made a comment about how nice riders never seem to have luck on their sides but today's hickstead really blew that theory out of the water!

reverse psychology seems the key, eh?

well done you, never thought of doing that......and hey talking about nice guys, was it not brilliant seeing a horse who had just helped his rider over a nice wooden fence, stand there waiting happily to allow him to walk out of the arena with said horse....and not a frown in sight from either horse or rider.
