Common digital extensor tendon...

My 3yo has developed a small, soft non-painful lump about the size of a 1p on his hind at the top front of the cannon bone (im thinking its the common digital extensor tendon). It appeared about 10days ago. He isnt lame or bothered when you prod the lump. It doesnt swell when he is stood in over night and bute doesn't take it down.. Any ideas?

Is it to the side of the cannon bone, sounds like a small splint.

No, def not a splint..

umm, there is a Deep Digital Extensor Tendon and the Superficial Digital Extensor Tendon, which lies above it.
if it's soft, it might be a tiny bit of damage to the tendon sheath perhaps?
i'd get a vet to check it, but i am beyond paranoid about tendons!
