Once we have got over twigs loading issues shes more than ready to start going to some showjumping shows, shes been out to dressage and been very well behaved and picked up a few nice placings and a win

Trouble is, York is pap for competion venues, the only ones I can think of close by are richmond, northallerton and port royal but if you live right in the middle of york like I do then none of them are exactly local for small 'baby classes' / schooling rounds. Its all very well saying I'll drive to port royal for clear round and nivice classes but it takes an hour so could really do with somewhere close for going to regularly the first few times.

Does anyone have any ideas? I may well have forgotten somewhere thats really close and local.

As above, Crockey Farm, Yorkshire Riding Centre (Markington). Also Red House school in moor Monkton have x-country schooling days and hold ODE's and Showcross there and have some very very small courses available. This won't be til spring/summer time though. Check out Nidd Valley Riding Club website I think they list events on there.

There's also Epworth Equestrian Centre they have a nice set up (although that's a bit further out - i'm near Wetherby).

Another option is maybe go to the GG centre http://www.theggcentre.co.uk/

£10 for as long as you want and good for practice round SJ courses. I have been several times and will be going again soon as horses not competed (due to broken wagon) for a good few months. Just keeping fingers crossed the weather cheers up!

Hope that's of some use anyway
