Friend has asked me to post asking if anyone knows of a companion home or DIY/grass livery for her mare.

She has kissing spines and this is causing to her becoming lame as well, although she is reasonably comfortable on bute. I think she would just like her to live out her limited time somewhere nice.

She will not want to sell or give her away, and is willing to continue to pay for her and look after her.

If anyone has anything to offer, please pm me

She is in Fleet, Hampshire.

Please no advice about PTS, its not my horse and while we all know it would be best in the long run, its the short term she is asking about.

The short term with a horse that has kissing spine can turn into long term. My mare has been retired due to this condition for 4 years now and continues living happily with some friends on level ground. As soon as I see the light go out of her life then obviously I'll make the hard decision, but that could take some time!

I could offer grass / retirement livery in Hants to join my gentle aged gentleman. Mare must be kind though. PM if interested.

Hi i could offer retirement livery also for your mare to join 3 other old horses one retired and two still in light work in Leicestershire pm me if interested.

Both horses at our yard with serious kissing spine have since recovered. One is back into full work (although very gradually) and the other is just beginning to canter again. Only thing off the cards is jumping. Chin up to your friend, not always the be all and end all
