im sure i saw a thread about somebody looking for one or something?

Do people take 'broken' horses as such as companions nowadays? Ive known friends give theres away to so called 'homes for life' for the horse to be then sold on as safe and sound weeks later.

Have a friend thats stuck in a rut atm with a horse she cant keep.

I took on a couple. Homes are out there you just have to be very careful. Ideally it would be someone you know and trust.

Well problem is hes a very well bred warmblood that has a good bsja record upto fox level however started with back problems/stopping/bucking, so youd get numptys wanting him because of his record. Hes been out on loan however their physio has told them to give the horse back and find something without a problem but she is starting university very soon and has nowhere to keep him.

So the problem hasn't been diagnosed yet? And therefore nobody knows what treatment, if any, is appropriate? I don't think passing it on as a companion and ignoring the issue is necessarily in the horses best interest. Is the horse in pain?

Abbilibby, could you please make your signature a bit smaller? I can do it for you if you like. It's just that the Fat Controller gets a bit upset when people have large siggys (I was told off about it once :( ).

Unless I personally knew and trusted someone to the extent that I'd lend them my husband (without benefits) I wouldn't. You have no clue how they'll be treated, whether they'll be sold on/abused/neglected/starved.

(PS Abbilibby - your siggie pic is a little on the large side to comply with T&Cs ;))
