I am just interested to know if you insure your companion pony for vets bills or just public liability. In most cases like mine they are a companion because they have had an injury and can no longer be ridden.

No. I have public liability only. As a companion there’s only so much I would put them through anyway and I also have a credit card for emergencies.

WHW have public liability, personal accident and £1500 vet fees (external injuries only, although the small print says they will pay for scans etc if there is an external injury present) for any horses owned by you for £120 a year. I wouldn't put my companion through anything too serious vets wise so this seemed a good compromise.

No they have their own bank account for anything they need over the normal vet account
