Looking for some help from those familiar with Barnsby saddles, specifically the Schockemohle (close contact with a forward flap).
I'm on the dreaded saddle hunt. Had a Barnsby Schockemohle several years ago that fit brilliantly but I foolishly sold it. I live in an area that doesn't have too many tack stores around requiring saddles to be shipped to me in order for me to try it. I'm willing to go through this expense to find the right saddle, but I'm hoping some of you can provide an idea of what other saddles are similar in feel to a Schockemohle?
My biggest issue is that I have a longer femur and require a more forward flap. The horse is a 3 year old warmblood so she is going to grow and change. While waiting for her to grow we are looking for a saddle that will 'do no harm'. I have found in the past that Barnsby's tend to fit everyone quite nicely - do any of you have suggestions for a saddle other than a Schockemohle that might do the trick?
I'm usually in a 17 inch and a medium tree is appropriate.
Thanks
