Hope I've posted the above links correctly!

With a little trial and error my horse prefers a double jointed mouth piece and is stoppable on the second ring of a gag - I don't need one with 3 rings
I have tried him in a French link gag which is fine but he does seem to prefer a thin mouthpiece

What would be the difference in the two above please? Is the Jefferies stronger? I prefer the lozenge but I don't like the word "precision!" as im not after too harsh a bit.

Opinions gratefully received! ;)

The precision i would say has a narrower mouth piece and is fully "copper type"
The lozenge one look chunkier and obv the link in the middle is the only copper bit.

I would prefer the top one!

It will be stronger in the sense that if you put any pressure on the reins it will dig into your horse's tongue and the corners of his mouth more than the other bit. Giving you the 'extreme control' mentioned. And your horse a sore mouth.

BUT if you have, and are prepared to adjust to make more so, gentle hands and your horse likes a thinner mouth piece then there is no reason it has to feel strong for you horse ifswim :-)

Hi Tickles thanks for your input- can I ask why? Is it simply a thinner mouth? I'm just trying to find something he's comfy in! Always used to be ridden in a jointed 3 ring gag by old owners and me at first then I swapped to a thinner French link which he seemed ok with but was really a bit strong so I'm trying to compromise!
