As title really...I really prefer the look of field boots with the laces as opposed to plain dress ones but have heard so many conflicting opinions on whether its correct. I'm hoping the boots will do me for the next couple of years as will be using them solely to compete in. Probably dressage (unaff.) this year and next, and then towards the end of next year BSJA. Thinking of buying the Mark Todd ones, but don't want to yet in case they're not allowed or something  What do you think?

I can't see why they're not allowed assuming you mean the boots with the laces up the front of the ankle and not the outside of the leg? Although I rode unaffiliated in my Glaciers (laces up the outside of the leg) yesterday with no adverse comment.
