Competing on your own

When you are - a- hum - getting on in years you need a caller for BD (or at least I do!). That is always difficult when you are on your own if you dont know anyone. So far I have just asked people and they always seem happy to call for me is they are hanging around - but I get embarrassed at having to ask. It is much more fun going with someone if you can isnt it?

I usually take just my horse as although on our yard, there are about 30+ liveries, there is only me and one other that go to BSJA and the other girl is a bit funny and prefers to go on her own.

I do take others to dressage or x-c if the odd person wants to go, but usually just my horse. But I don`t like going on my own, so I always manage to drag my hubby along to help. He is a footballer so we usually go somewhere in the week.
I also like him to video us. Vain I know. But seriously, I love to watch it back and see where we went wrong. You can guarantee that there is always a reason for a pole down or refusal etc.
There is a lot of you that go on your own though, so you must be very brave. I feel a bit of a lightweight now.
