In a bit of a pickle.

Entered in for a BD prelim test this weekend to have a go with my lad. I wanted to double check about not being actually a full BD member but doing it as an associate member, so spoke to BD today and got advised that we would be fine to enter as an associate member and that we could just simply sign up as one online through the website. I asked if I needed to send forms off for me and my horse and was told no, just join online as an associate.

So I have done so, but have now confused myself as read the website and from I have read it states my horse needs to be registered separately as an associate horse too, and that to compete, the website associate membership doesn't do that and the forms need to be sent for them and associate written in the 'office use' box?

And read the associate horse membership, and it states the owner must still be a full BD member?

Can anyone help me please, as I'm rather confused now after being told one thing but reading another......my little blonde brain isn't coping!

TIA :)

Yes, your horse must have an associate registration. It's free, you can download the form from the website (link below) but you need to post it in along with a copy of your passport. If you post it first class you'll probably be ok - they processed mine very quickly earlier in the year - or you could ring and see if they'll accept a scanned/emailed copy. You can then only complete in Gold section as an associate member. Good luck!

Thanks!

Damn, I had the forms filled out ready to send today too but as got told on the phone to just register online instead, I didn't. I'll have to send them first class tomorrow and hope for the best! Poo.

Failing that it'll have to be an expensive schooling test HC lol. :/

Thankyou :)

I've just scanned all my forms over as well as sending them out tomorrow in the post so we'll see! :) Thanks for that.

Thanks but its our first one so just wanted to give it a go now we've moved more locally to a centre that holds them monthly.

If we do well then I'll look into full membership but seeing how we do......we do a bit of everything, literally, so I have to be realistic as who we affiliate with as we could end up to a lot lol! We only do things for fun as he's still young......just testing the waters to see what we like best and would be doing most frequently

We came first!

Thankyou we got penalties for not having our own number (wasn't told or aware - will know for next time!) and we were scoring 7's and 7.5's until our halt we got a 6 for - we halted squarely then he realised there were actually people in the wooden hut and spooked on the spot

Overall 69.3%
I'll try novice on a ticket next time

yay well done! Great result! Not surprised as you put a lot of work into him in everything you do and it pays off :)

Thankyou our pics are on here but there's so many I can't decide which! I love the one of him smooching himself in the mirrors
