Ok here's the deal - I am thinking about doing BSJA seriously for a season.

However my parents aren't too well, and I cannot always drag friends with me. My folks aren't happy with me going off jumping by myself in case I fall on my head (has been known!).

Is it possible to set up a buddy system - so when you go to a show you look out for each other in case of a crisis?

I have looked into paying a groom, but so far it looks like around £60 a day, which is going to make competing very expensive!! (basically need anyone who can drive to come with me, look bored hang around and then take me home if I cannot drive!)

Do you have any friends who jump? team up with them, one day you drive the box the next time your friend drives the box and you'll always be there should one of you need a hand.

Problem is that I keep my horses at home and don't know anyone that goes show jumping.

Our only livery is a yearling, so don't think they will be doing anything with him for a while!

Hmm, this is one of the things I do, but yes I charge similarly and I'm in the wrong place to boot! What you really need is someone horsey who's recently retired and needs something to occupy themselves! Why don't you give my friends at Redpin a ring (publishers of Ridgeway Rider and All Horse amongst others), say I said to ring, explain your situation and see if they can think of anything. I'll pm you my name and the person you should ask for.

ME!! I am happy to try and fall in with you
