Ariat is your friend!
Their jackets are cut longer especially if you get a long style. I picked one up for £100 last year and really like it. I also love their breeches as simple but great materials.
I have had pikeur breeches, premier equine - both flattering material for people who are not twigs. I currently have some Aztec diamond breeches and really like those. I picked mine up in a sale as they are currently £145 😖. I cannot get on with leggings at all. Though I do have my eye on some Mayston Breeches.

So good news is you don’t need to wear white anymore and a lot of friends wear navy or grey. The grey looks quite smart in the right shade.

BD changed the rules re colours and so no need to wear white anymore. I find grey works well but people are also out in navy. It does take a while for changes to be noticed but white and bum freezers will one day be viewed in horror. Why not go coloured with a nice similiar saddle pad?

Firstly, apologies to everyone I’ve offended. What an absolute clown I am. Of course all women are real women. I should know better and should have titled the thread “completion clothing for improved elegance”.

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions - and alternatives as well. Great ideas.

I have purchased a Pikeur Diana from eBay today. Looks so good. Have also checked out Equetec and eyeing up a tweed from them, cut looks amazing.

Horzehoods I’ve sent off some measurements to see which of their products would suit best.

Dressage went well - dropped my stirrups one hole in the mistaken belief it might make my thighs look longer, put my bra straps up two holes, put my invisible VPL (oxymoron) undies on and had a great day.

There was a company called fuller fillies.I have one of their jackets. They designed for the fuller figure, they didn't just upscale sizes.Mine fits and is incredibly flattering. The panels are broader and the fit is lovely.Pity more firms don't do this.Plenty of new clothes "designed" for the fuller figure in the non horse world just not in the horse world.

Tomorrow I’m putting on my 20yr old Cavallo breeches which are beige not white and riding in my 15yr old 2nd hand jacket that is stunningly cut and tailored in the UK. I will look like the silly old lady from yesteryear but despite trying to spend money on new comp kit - Ihave been unsuccessful.
No you won't!! you will look very smart and traditional.

I'm having the same issue trying to find stuff for a wedding. I usually refuse point blank to attend weddings but it will mean alot to the bride so I'm going to bite the bullet, but looking for clothes that look nice when you are short and fat like me is a nightmare. It's either clingy tight disgusting thin fabric or looks like a circus tent, so I have plumped for smart cream trousers a lovely blue country shirt and a trusty old tweed blazer, theme is country look and I can't wear dresses as I look like a beachball...but this lot actually looks ok together so I'll be an old fart but a comfy one!

I think you’re aware that you’re taking my good intention to slightly ridiculous proportions. If I was mugged by a thin or fat person I’d describe them as such and wouldn’t shy away from that.

What I will do is challenge the way that we discuss and speak about weight on a public platform such as this because I believe that it is a space to respect the felling of others. If I was a young rider reading this, who did have issues with my weight, maybe it would hurt me to consider that other women, who should be setting the example, view me as a “stick insect”; I’d find it demeaning. Maybe it wouldn’t, but it is important that we are aware of how the way we use language is interpreted and the influence that has.
I'm a big fat lump - always have been and I describe myself as a big fat lump, I'm not offended if someone calls me a fat lump either as it's true!!

Perhaps we should start a club for comfy old farts!

Rugged Horse used to make excellent breeches that fit women who weren't small hipped and long legged and were made of the sort of material that didn't show vpl etc. But I think they have stopped making them? Does anyone know if they are still in business? I couldn't find any last time I looked.

Recent convert Agaso breeches - decent weight fabric, sticky bum or knee options and appear to hide my lumps and bumpy bits too, I second ariat and piker lugana also

Or cavalry twill with elephant ears!

Vintage jackets are so much better than the modern versions imo; better cut and better material
Stretchy breeches however are a vast improvement on the jods I grew up wearing, no stretch whatsoever made mounting a real challenge and in those days we all got on from the ground

Don't get my wrong I do love my riding tights especially in the summer, side pockets are so much better than trying to stuff a phone into tiny pockets in breeches. I've no idea how I managed a summer working in Spain in thick suede seat breeches... My boss did not approve of the sport bra and breeches combo 😅😎

Have a picture of mine to be going on with. 😁
They are still on the market? Oooh...
Do they clean up well? We have leather currently as it's so easy to keep clean, but not nearly as snuggly in winter as this one looks.

ETA seem to be off on a tangent here: apologies OP, will stop asap 🤣

I'm addicted to my riding tights not just for riding but for other activities.
