Looking for full / competition livery within 30/40 minutes drive of Southfields, South West London.

Moving back to London and need somewhere with good facilities / knowlegable staff for my 17h eventer and potentially for my other 16h, 11 year old who is retired.

Friendly helpful yard and wanted as first season eventing (if weather picks up).

Any ideas / suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Sarah Gledhill has a new little yard opening July time. She is 30 mins from Southfields Cobham exit off the A3- Hersham Walton on Thames.
I know she will have room for 5 full/ comp liveries. They yard is small (11 boxes).

The yard will have nice facilities and be secure and friendly

If youd like more info please PM me!!

Woodruffe in Epsom might suit you, also it has gallops on-site and is probably close to more/longer gallops on Epsom Downs for fittening work.

I used to live in the same area, and I would recommend the yard I used to be at, which is Lodge Liveries between Cobham and Fetcham. They looked after my 17.2 very well, has great facilities, there are quite a few competitive riders there, and they also have regular clinics, including with dressage trainer Andrew Day. It is within hacking distance of Pachesham, and is also close to other off road hacking on Bookham Common. If I was in the south, I would go back there like a shot as I knew my horse would be very well looked after even if I was busy at work and couldn't make it to the yard.

Emily Taggart is taking over one of the yards at Littleton Manor in Reigate so you can't get better eventing facilities than that! I honestly don't know if she has spaces but worth a look?

I can really recommend Sarah Gledhill. I keep my 1* event horse with her who she has brought through the ranks for me. She also encourages me to compete at a lower level and is very supportive.
If you would like any more info don't hesitate to contact me :) good luck finding a yard

Littleton has fabulous facilities but it's a long way from Southfields.

Seb Poirier offers livery at his place and the facilities look pretty good: http://www.sebastienpoirier.co.uk/

Woodruffes has fantastic hacking and is a nice yard, but turnout is very limited. I find that it lacks much competition experience for such a big yard (there must be 40 odd stables and probably only 5 of us regularly go out)....does have onsite unaff dressage though, and the YO is probably one of the sanest horse people I've ever come across.

I've been to see Gasstons and liked it, and it seems to be a bit more dynamic. Right next to the M25 though which really puts me off: http://www.gasstonstables.co.uk/

thanks very much to you both

I think Littleton is going to be just that too far.

I am going to see Gasston and Woodruffe hopefully next weekend and will take a look at Sebastian although not sure there s again much turnout

Good luck! I use Littleton a lot so when Emily decided to take on one of the smaller yards, I have finally made the call to leave my yard and go with her there. Unfortunately for my current yard, they aren't quite rid of me as am leaving my old mare in retirement with them..

I am moving because my horse needs to kick on and this should do the trick!

I do know the people who run Gasstlon's and they are lovely. I can't speak to the livery experience as have only been there to judge - as always, it depends what you want! Heathfields is probably outside of your travel zone but might be worth a conversation if they have space.
