As title....

I am 5'2 and a little on the dumpy side..

I have real problems finding long boots to fit, I like the mountain horse ones but although they do the nubuck ones in a short wide which do fit... the competition boots are only in a short or a wide which means they either don't do up or are too long!!

Also competition Jackets... I am very broad across the shoulders, but i am not particularly large in the chest region so actually don't need a huge size!! They are either too long in the body or they are too tight across my shoulders!

Anyone who is a similar shape to me got any tips... or good links?

I defintely CAN'T afford made to measure so I am looking for good quality but reasonably priced stuff off the shelf!!

i am 5'1 and quite petite otherwise. I would also say go with childrens. i went into my local tack shop having had a nightmare of a time getting a jacket that fitted and just tried loads on. i found a lush one that fits a dream. (i think it is an age 11-12 yrs, ekk!) i can't remember the make, but it really was a try everything possible experience!

As for boots i have got Mountain Horse ones. Again i went and tried lots on. i found the Mountian Horse competition ones were a bit long but they are lovely soft leather and have 'dropped' so to speak. they are super comfy and the nicest long boots i have ever had! i also have size 3 feet which didn't help my hunt.

I find a lot of the kiddys stuff is bigger than the adults, if that makes sense - hence the aged 11-12 yrs jacket! the shapes are also different which i think would fit dumpy adult - they are less 'fitted' so to speak which makes them look great on a dumpy adult and they fit well, rather than being tight at the waite or on the shoulders! i hope that makes some sense!!!!

mountain horse do their competition boots in a junior range not sure if they have different calf fittings or not though - either that or de niro boots little bit more expensive but really nice quality and come in lots of different fittings

Thanks I've got those ones at the moment, and although they are nice, they aren't that soft and I feel a little bit stiff in them, i have had them a while so they are well broken in, but just aren't the same soft feel as the hawkins ones I had that really have fallen apart now!! (I got them for my 18th so they did last 14 years!!)

You sound almost exactly the same size/ shape as me- have you tried Shires brands- my jacket fits beautifully and wasn't dear at all.

Ah, finally someone else that shares my problems!

I'm 5'1" and a size 6 and I can't find ANYTHING

I do have a children's jacket but I would like it to be fitted in an ideal world. However, I have a 32DD chest (yes I do look like a joke).

Boots is another disaster zone! I have size 6 feet but my legs are really short so whilst everything is too long in the leg, most of the time they are too loose around the leg. To solve this, I have children's gaiters and some jod boots as I think I'd have to get made to measure otherwise.

Oppsy, i have just realised that my boots are actually Treadstones and not Mountain Horse! Sorry for the moment of dumbness!!

i have similar problems. i got a harry hall show jacket in kids (im 5ft 1 and 10/12). i find mark todd breaches to be a good fit. I also found gaiters and boots fit better than long boots but even the short gaiters are bit longer than they are supposed to be. good luck!
