Competition goals for 2008...

Best of luck to all!

I poured over the BE 2008 calendar in the new mag the other day and have it all planned

. William's qualified for an NRF already, would love to qualify Libs for one too before he's out of Novice points. Then obviously they'll have to qualify for the Novice champs!

I'd like to move the pair up to Intermediate in April if March isn't a complete write off. Then I think Dijon CCI** will be our late Spring aim. I hope to change to Danish nationality next year in which case William will be aimed for Le Lion. If that doesn't work would be nice to get to Tweseldown again for the new 7yo champs (but cleverly BE have scheduled this for the day before Le Lion starts, which presumabley means GB's top 6 and 7 yo's won't be at our national championships

, much the same way our Olympic team riders can't do Gatcombe...)

well one was to actually jump clear round some bsja but that box has just been ticked
laugh.gif

otherwise novice and CIC* and maby if buster defies all expectations an int at the end of 08 (wishful thinking!lol)

Well I would really really love to do an Intro by the end of the year, it's been my ambition for years ... but need Brooklyn to be sound and fit, he's a bit accident prone, has been off for the last few weeks following an injury sustained during a prelim dressage test
frown.gif
hardy beastie he ain't.

ummmmmmmm....... not thought really, but I suppose to compete Medium, keep my boy sound, me sound (in mind body and spirit!!!!)
shocked.gif
smile.gif
to be able to fund the competitions, oh and maybe get "the powers that be" to change the age limitation on training for the olympics
ooo.gif
..... then maybe I can work towards them!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!! No goals too big eh??!!!!!!!!

Ive been too busy to think about this so off the top of my head..... Carry on competing at elementary and improve our scores and ride a medium test before the end of the year. Competing next year will become a struggle with me working shifts so I will be happy if I can carry on competing and doing well.

I will also have to find a new instructor.

Rosie - to compete in a BE PN Regional Final and qualify for the Champs

To have a go at RC's Dressage to Music

And to come out of 2008 without any debt caused by having lots of fun on pony!

Back Lilly the Filly and hope she doesn't kill me

lol to try and not to fall off at PN! My record is becoming pretty bad! I'd love to get placed at PN and possibly go novice by the end of next year if I'm feeling really brave (or stupid)
I'd love to get a dressage score in the 20s but maybe that's pushing it a bit too much
smile.gif

Ulrich- DCs in Newcomers and be jumping fox by feb/march next year.
smile.gif

Jump my first 1.30 on either gigolo or a diff horse!
and start jumping bigger tracks
Evie- to have sold her, so i have more time for the other 2 due to GCSE's

For Rupert, I would like to ......
BD - Advanced medium by end of 2008
BE - PN or N by end of 2008/Intro regionals
BSJA - Just do some classes and see what happens.......

start PN with the plan to do a few novices from September to end of season and if i can would really like to do the 3 day PN @ Aldon in October
But would just be pleased if he can stay sound and keep his shoes on!!
grin.gif

To affiliate Axel to BD and get good marks in Novice and Elementary, maybe start doing some medium level work at home.

To get him well behaved enough to qualify for the Cherif champs.

and......take him showjumping!

I would like to get Josie competing Medium by the end of 2008, and qualified for regionals at either novice or elementary, depending on how our training goes over winter!

Rebel - I'd like to get him sound and happy and sane enough to just do a dressage test!

Oh, and I'd like all my broodmares to get in foal, pretty please
smile.gif

Well CCJ hasn't seen this thread yet, so here's my wish list! (ever so easy to write when all you have to do is groom..
grin.gif
)
Win a PN with Chocolate.
Start Jacques in Intro and be in PN by the end of the season, hopefully with some placings.
Keep Jonty sound, she will start at PN and rapidly go straight to Novice provided the ground isn't deep or bone hard.. had she not done that tendon she would have been doing Novice 18 month's ago
mad.gif

Sell at least two of the other "spare" horses so doing reduce my shoeing and feed bills)
I wonder if however other people are as competitive as C and me; once we have actually proved to ourselves the horses are sufficiently trained and talented to compete at home or un-aff we go to win not just be there.
Lots of people don't seem to mind competing and never or rarely being placed, for us that's the whole point, why go if you think you have no chance?
Oh and one big ambition for CCJ, break that dressage score of under 25..we know the horses are capable, it's just when!

I would like to have Tigers Eyes season that she had this year combined with NickyMs.
blush.gif

Realistically to improve on this year.

In response to HH - I do not know of a single eventer that is not competitive I think you have to be in order to do well xc. I certainly am and even Bossanova is very ambitious and she is very laid back!!

Thanks Lec, and whilst I know I had a good season and am very happy with how the boys went, I have to admit my brain has already drifted into "onwards and upwards" mode!

Sooooooo, if they keep improving like they have this year, I'd like to aim for Le Lion with Humungahorse and maybe Blenheim or Boekelo next autumn with H (via Houghton Hall**, an advanced and a CIC***
crazy.gif
.)

Oh yeah, and I'd like to have the next Baydale boy, little fat Jupiter, backed and ridden away by late September.
laugh.gif

Thanks lec!

NickyM - been meaning to ask you - is it you that puts Baydale in front of your horses' names, or do you end up buying them all from the same place?

I forgot to add I would love to be able to stay as relaxed about the horses' health as I have been this year as they go up the grades - I know how easy it is to end up wrapping their legs up all the time and feeding them every supplement under the sun. Don't want to be like that again!

HH - interesting point. I find as soon as I try to win my riding suffers. If however I look at it as "me and horse v. the dressage test/sj designer/xc designer" I ride significantly better.

Ummm would like to do a HC/Unaff Medium Stressage by end of next year.

Would like to get a few DC's Discoverey

And do a BE intro
laugh.gif

Would love to get Tinto up to Grade B BSJA but that won't happen next year... we just don't go to enough BSJA's really. Over the winter Id like to get our Foxhunter double clears. Otherwise would love to do a BE Intermediate or 2 day novice.

With Shadow, Id just like to get him doing more BE Intro's and get him round a couple of PN's and do more WH / ridden showing as we did barely any this year.

well aims

by the begining of the year have to happy, fit and sound horses then if that happens

Song -
* Would love to get some more points at novice BE and be confident again and have enought points to have to do intermediate again and internationals would aim to do a * mid season and we will see how that goes as to what to do at the end of the season poss a CIC**
* And BSJA would love to get some more double clears and newcomers

Gogs
*Get out and about BEing again and maybe do a PN by the end of the season
*get good % at prelim and possible novice unaff dressage and impove our canter trans
*Do some Ex racer classes and not look out of place
*And most important have FUN!!!

To Give Hattsy the best possible chance of becoming the most amazingly talented horse i know she can be without ruining her in the process. To improve my riding so that i dont let her down and see where that takes us by the end of next year.
smile.gif

Compete in Trailblazers dressage, try and qualify (!!!)
Improve my prelim dressage scores and do some novice tests
Generally improve my standard of riding
Keep my horses happy and healthy.

Firstly, to have as much FUN as I did this season! I so love having such a fun horse who can turn his hoof to anything.

Next - to be more competative, however I think that won't be down to next season, it'll be down to the work I put in this winter....

HH - I go to be competative, I'm just not very good at it! Hence kick up the arse this winter and lots of schooling planned (mental note to self - if you school your horse once a week, you cannot realistically expect your dressage marks to improve!)

If I could also have a combination of T_E and NickyMs seasons I would be over the moon! In fact coming top 15 would do me - no more of this 22nd, 24th, 20th lark for me!

mine are:
firstly to have a horse that hasnt got holes in for the first half of the season!

start out doing some pn's and then move up to novice and possibly a * at the end of the season, weston or aldon

if im not at * then hopefully the pn3d at aldon

and give my horsey lots of hugs when he is good and not tellings off because he was naughty like the last few months!
