Competition mix?

Hi everyone just wondered if people could share their opinions on competition mixes which have worked for their horses. My boy is currently fed the Spillers “instant energy competition mix” which I find isn’t making a difference.

He is also fed the Baileys Power & Performance Balancer which is amazing and has really helped with his top line and muscle growth but this gives off little energy.

I just want something to add a bit of sparkle. He is very chilled out and sometimes can lack energy.

He is ridden 5/6 days a week. A good variety of hacking/Flatwork and competitions/training away from home once a week.

Any recommendations will be much appreciated. Please no hateful comments.

My showing friends use the Saracen energy one I can't remember what it's called I'm sure you can find it on the website.

Have you tried oats they can often do the job I am probably not the best person as I have the opposite problem ? most feed sends my 2 nuts.

Have you looked at possible muscle myopathy? I have seen so many horses described as "lazy" when they actually have PSSM.

Whether or not I would be looking at adding oil to his diet as a trial.

Saracen Enduro mix?

I've used that in the past with good effect (def needed energy, def not pssm etc).
Also used oats which worked just as well.

assuming all is well Topspec Turbo tops mine up nicely. I just add it on working days. I find bruised oats don't get digested well enough with my horse but the turbo flakes are like porridge oats so don't have the same problem with the husks. (mine can't have alfalfa so the saracen stuff is out).

Almost like she is paid to.....
Snarky......

Many feed companies sponsor competitors, I think it rings well when the user continues to use that feed several years later. Yes, its likely to be at a negligible cost, but decent people like Carl and Charlotte wont promote crap for years nor feed it if they didnt believe in the product, would they?
