My horse has an awful registered name - Tess - I want to add a Prefix/suffix to it through BE, BD, BSJA(if they allow it?) I don't think BSPS allow do they :(

does anyone know how long they can be, can they be multiple words or does it have to be 1 word?

And, any ideas?

IIRC you'll need to change the name on your horse's passport too. I had to do this because my horse's passported name was just 'millie' and I wanted to add a prefix, otherwise she'd have been Millie-the-millionth with BE and BD

How easy and/or cheap this is to do will depend on the passport issuing organisation. In my case it was easy and reasonably cheap :))) but I think it's more difficult for some.

My breed society won't change the name, against the rules, arghh! Shame she's stuck with such a rubbish name being such a fab horse :(

well it might be worth a phone call to whichever affiliated body you want to join, just in case they have a way round it. e.g. BE have started some kind of prefix scheme where a company can pay to have a prefix added to a sponsored horse - it costs more money though, but I would guess those horses aren't having their passported names changed. There might be a way.

I would assume that they would just get the company name added on the front - like Everest Milton, Everest Midnight Madness etc from back in the day! I can't remember what they changed to after that? Sanyo maybe?

BD and BE let anyone pay for a prefix/suffix to be added onto the passported name
My question was whether anyone knows if they have to be 1 word or if there's a max amount of letters. Thanks anyway :)
