Just wondering if anyone has any clever suggestions on where to source the above? Really struggling to find something classy from the usual sources (H&H, Horsequest etc) Any clever ideas on producers, top-end dealers etc specialising in ponies?

I know of a v. cute one

Haha yes unfortunately so

Getting better though!

Think I might pack him off to Baydale boot camp when she's fixed

although he'd look a like bit dropped off of R & H!!

ETA DR is totally my fault - 11yo hunting mad kid that didn't really care for DR...looking back I realise I should really have put the effort in when he was a complying 4yo...

PC website has a few (not quite the perfectly rounded finished articles though) - horse select might do. There are some v nice ones on horse quest - the fei ones though - what sort are you looking for?

I made exactly the same mistake with mine and now my flatwork hating brother is trying to sort it out!

Looking for FEI in due course but don't mind bringing on. Not blown away by any of the Horsequest ones tbh, except one or two which are already sold

Trouble is, I know exactly what I want... We don't have the budget (and wouldn't want) to buy a made FEI pony with team potential/credentials, can only afford the ones that haven't quite got what it takes. So I want to buy one on the way up - preferably not green as grass 5yo but something which is ready to/already has Intro'd, or otherwise sometthing from a SJ background.

this probably isn't hugely helpful but word of mouth is the best bet...good ponies rarely need to be advertised!

What are you looking for? schoolmaster or or a sharp competition type?

Lots of good ponies have come from Helen Bell. Good facilities to try them as well. I'd go back there again if I looking for another to do pony trials with.

What about looking at 14h WHP as some of these are very talented but can get stuck in the WHP scene. A top 14h WHP will be jumping tough 1m and upto 1.10m at championships!

I know of a pony for sale here, measures in 14.2hh.

used to compete BE previously, has evented up to intermediate (previous owner was adult on pony) and has 4 points possibly... imo is a team pony, just not with current rider as she cant ride it!! I rode it at pc and was nice, little fizzy but responsive

nice nice pony, was 12K last time i saw...

I had an incredible WHP just a shame when we had him we knew nothing about eventing. I would definitely be looking for a WHP. They are careful, move well and totally unbothered by spooky things an big atmospheres.

What about something like this?

Try advertising locally for those lovely but loony ponies who can do it all but are so buzzed by life that they have some seriously scatty moments? We got my sister's pony by pure luck because she was considered unjumpable but is actually just in need of some very 'sensitive' riding, lol. Might be worth a try if you don't have mega-bucks available...

I'm fairly close to Helen Bell - why don't you send me your chequebook and I'll go shopping for you tomorrow. Would love a day looking at cute little pingy jumping ponies!

Well GB, I think I'll give her a ring and if she has anything that sounds suitable how about a team pony-hunting day?

Everyone else, thank you so much for all your suggestions and PMs, very useful and I'm following/have followed up several. So thanks again and if you have any further ideas let me know
