Finally can post a little competition report.
Took loan pony to a combined training event. Test was prelim and showjumping was 2'3 to 2'6. Sounds like nothing but as lost all confidence in last year it was a big step.
Pony is a stressy little thing with a lot of quirks but has really improved my confidence after my ex racer.
Was working until midnight the day before so friend kindly plaited for me night before. Miraculously was quite clean next morning so a quick scrub and ready to go. Ended up running late but made it in time to get a 20 min warm up. Dressage arena was very spooky so took a while to settle pony. Had some spooks and spins and then needed a lead into arena which was indoor down a corridor.
Test went reasonably well. First half was so pleased with lovely and relaxed and working over back nicely. Then massive spook at patch of sunlight so rest of test tense and tight. Still scored over 62% so not too shameful.
Took a look at the jumping and almost vomited. Hadn't jumped a course in about 4 years and had only done cross poles with pony up until then. Talked into doing it by friend so went in with neckstrap in hand and off we went. Pony was great and jumped lovely despite looking at every fence. Had one runout which was all my fault as lost my line and took leg off then last fence down which was also my fault as stopped riding.
Ended up with loads of time faults and 8 penalties but didn't care at all as so chuffed to get round in one piece.
Attached a video of the jumping. Constructive comments welcome :)
