I'm just wondering where there are good competition centres in Suffolk, preferably near Newmarket/Bury St. Ed?

I know about Forest Edge and the Jays but just wondering if there are any others that I've overlooked?

Bit further down the A14 is Topthorne EC (near Stowmarket), very nice indoor school, regular comps.

Have a gander at horsedates.co.uk as that lists whats on...

Also Queach Farm, although think they only do dressage. Nice outdoor arena, but warm up on grass. I like Topthorne too, nice atmos and chips :)

Went to Fenning Farm last week for first time, officially Cambs as near Soham. Whopping great outdoor arena, a little exposed maybe, as it is proper fenland.

Agree about horsedates, very handy.

Easton College on the W of Norwich has a huge indoor with a good surface, just started holding aff events.

Also Lordsbridge (cambs) but a little 'tired', Keysoe not too far either, or manor Farm (best not to eat there, following the report in H&H a few weeks ago!)

I like Fenning. It may be bleak but competitions are always well-run and the new owners are much friendlier than the owners of certain other venues in this area.

Topthorn is nice centre BUT rather tight on space in both the work in and main indoor arena - especially if on big and/or young horses!
