Competitor question...

Crashing through a very boring Friday at work (zzzz…..). Quick question – when you’re competing (no matter what level), what are your top ten items that you cannot forget/usually take spares of (and I mean small items, not things like your horse!)?

electric tape
gloves
hairnets
hay (we take enough to feed horse for double the intended time away)
water (same as above- double what we should need)

can't remember anything else small that we try and duplicate?

Never mind that - I'm just impressed you have enough money to take Spares

In terms of spares, just the usual I suppose
Hay
Water
Reins
Stirrups
Boots
Headcollar/leadrope
2 mobiles (one gets flat v easily!!)
Horse shoes if I have any
Riding hat
Breeches
Complete change of non-riding clothes from underwear up

(Yes I have fallen off in the water before, in March

)
Extra waterproofs
Oh and optimistically I do always pack shorts and sunglasses too LOL. Except maybe in winter

I also have a little plastic box I take with me. It has a hairbrush,hairnet, thread and those kinds of things, as well as painkillers for humans, suncream, iceman or cooling gel for the horses, some spare money, tissues, antiseptic cream and weird things like that..

erm . . I tend to take 5 hats, spare XC colour, spare gaiters, spare boots, spare bridles erm bar horses and saddles I think I take a spare of everything

!

I take plenty of sets of clothes in case I fall off in the water twice! It would be my luck!
