Bought some toggi boots last year... wasnt long before they leaked, so took them back to the shop (robinsons - 85 quid), they "tested" them (which obvs had to take two weeks).....:rolleyes: They decided they actually leaked, so gave me £85 credit, so I put £15 towards that and bought some other boots (same make diff type)

(still following..)?

So with the 2nd pair of boots, within a matter of weeks the lining was coming off them and eventually got stuck on my feet so i had to be pulled out of them which ripped the boots - again went back and demanded new boots....

went back to original pair... which I am currently in.

Today I noticed, they are not only leaking, the front of the boot (sole) has started to come away from the front!

I dont treck up the field daily in these (rarely) I use wellies. i do not have another £85 to throw away and im frankly sick of trading my boots (3 pairs in 12 months is rediculous).....

The make is toggi.... do i email them and let rip? Will it achieve anything or should i let it go??

Has anyone else had the same problem?

TBH, I would complain again. I expect my boots to last a couple of years, and I do EVERYTHING in them, walk to field, ride, muck out (I don't have toggi's tho)...

Like you say, you don't walk to the field in them etc, so I would expect at least a good year out of them.

So yes, I'd complain, and i'd kick off a right stink... You might get compensation, hehe! :p
 
The goods must be of merchisable quality under the sale of goods act. Initially return them to the retailer who sold them to you and advise them of the faults. If they fail to act then contact your local fair standard trading office.
 
I'd take them back as they don't seem to be fit for purpose, as long as you haven't had them too long and there is little wear on the soles to prove you haven't worn them all day every day for a year!!
 
I will send a "lovely" email to toggi then.... and if no joy with them back to the retailer

My dad will go ape**** as he bought them for me :/

I dont have 85 quid to chuck :( nor another pair of riding boots! :o
 
My daughter has the Toggi Canyon Boots, coming up to 2years now and they are still going strong. She wears them alot, even for mucking out and they've been fine.
 
Well mine have lasted over a year - I haven't been riding that much recently but they had near a years worth of being worn twice a week to ride and pootling around down our field (and they've been around Burghley!)

Maybe you're unlucky and keep getting a bad batch? I would defo complain. If you bought a pair for a tenner it would be expected but Toggi boots should be perfect and withstand more!
 
Definitely complain. I had a pair of Hunter wellies that split and leaked in about 10 months. I took them back, got a new pair and then six months later, same thing happened again. Went and complained again and got another pair. Have to admit though, I gave up when the third pair went!!!

They also leak. And to completely take the pee...im 1 month out of warranty (7 months is all they lasted!!) :o

will see what toggi say about it. If they dont replace them I will be kicking up a stink again!
 
I had the same run of bad luck as you're having I'm afraid, and not only with Toggi....I bought a pair of Dublin River Boots (and I LOVED them), they lasted a total of 3 weeks before all the lining ripped to pieces and they started to leak too, took them back to the shop and got a new pair, they did the same so I took them back to the shop and got Toggi Canyon boots, the sole ripped off at the front and leaked within 2 weeks and the lining also started to go, took them back, got an exchange, the same thing happened, took them back, exchanged for Harry Hall Yale boots.....same thing happened! Eventually I gave up buying the 'cheaper' end of the yard boots and persuaded my OH to buy me some Ariat Grasmere's for my Birthday, so far they're amazing so let's see how well they do :-)

if they only lasted 7 months how are you out of warranty:confused: it has to run from when you got the replacement not from when you bought the first pair:confused:
i had problems with woofwear long mucker boots, first pair the material came away at a seam at the back within weeks so i exchanged them for another pair, that pair split along the ridged bit on the heel so they went back, i didn't want another pair so got a pair of shires charlbury boots and they've lasted fine and no leaking:)
 
haha ^ wearing them!

its not like i even go trecking round a field in mud upto my knees!! :D

last time i said they leaked (which they did) i got a new pair - but had to wait two weeks :(

its not good enough though - 7 months and they have gone lol!!
 
I would call Toggi, they were really helpful when my boots needed replacing, I had purchased them on a visit to Hickstead so couldn't take them back to a shop. I sent them my boots and the postman delivered me a lovey new pair which are still going strong. It did take a week or so but that included me sending them the old ones.

I was really pleased with the service I got from them.
 
^ i did - but decided to go back to the shop.... as i do not want another pair of toggi ones!

The shop i bought them from can give me the chance to have a different make (if needby), if i go back to toggi i have to have theirs

and after 3 duff pairs, i dont want anymore toggi ones :(
 
QR.Get your money back and buy better boots.

I DID trek through muddy fields, wet, rode in and walked my dogs in my ariat paddock boots. They lasted 2 years and they would have lasted even longer had I ever looked after them.. :rolleyes: you do seem to get what you pay for with boots.
 
they wont give me my money back - no recipt but with taking them back to the shop, i have a chance to buy others


i was looking at the ariats.... but id have to put another £150 towards them........... not sure i could justify that on boots!!! :o
 
Yes you can justify it! Get the windermeres, they were about £130 when I bought a pair last year and they got seriously abused! If I had bothered actually looking after them then they would still be going strong :)
 
Think about it, had you not got your money back you'd have spent close to that replacing your boots.

I can't pass comment on the tall boots yet, but nothing I have ever had from ariat have EVER been bad quality and that which I hear of that is - well ariat have the best customer service around!

If they are faulty you do not need your receipt.

TAKE THEM BACK

Do not accept shoddy goods, ever. Times are too hard to chuck money around.

they were 85 quid! im el-skinto as is! so every little helps! i cant afford to replace them


asi it happens i bought myself a litlte chavvy pair of yard boots (think pink camoflage)....they are diar...but will do the job

the brown thing is going jumping monday so will be wearing my decent show boots :( :(
