Is anyones horse COMPLETELY different riding in the school compared to hacking? For example, a horse that was previously at yard where the horse was constantly schooled almost everyday and now basically has rebelled and hates it, setting neck, pulling, strong in mouth yet out on hacks complete angel and completely different, like a dream. Any similar experiences?

Absolutely yes!! My mare will hack out on her own anywhere, go past roadworks, men in holes and various mechanical diggers etc, do whatever I want her to do yet when I take her in the school she spooks at everything. Anything to get out of doing work where she has to use her whole body and work hard. I have come to the conclusion that she doesnt like schooling and prefers hacking out.

I think quite alot of horses would be different. Most of the horses on my yard tend to bunny hop or appear more forward in our riding paddock although my boy isn't too bothered. The paddock is right next to a stallion and the sheep are normally kept in the paddock so I assume it's the smell bothers them?

Hacking wise, my boy was different as he lacked confidence which was harder to ride in conmparison to him in the riding paddock! So opposite way for me! :)
