Completely baffled

My old pony lives out with her best friend. They're in a field a 2min walk from our yard and are checked twice a day every day. The field is fenced mainly with electric tape, however down one side where there are dense bushes there were wooden posts with metal wire running between them. This has never worried me as my pony is sensible enough and the wire is right by the bushes and only there to keep the ponies away from the rabbit holes.
I went to the field this afternoon to find said wire and three of the wooden posts dragged half way across the field. One of the wooden posts was broken in half and the other three pulled out the ground (they were about a foot deep). Both ponies are fine - there is not a mark on them. I am completely baffled as to what has happened. It looks as though a pony has got caught and run thus dragging the fencing with them but both ponies are grey and there is no blood, no cuts and no scuff marks. The field is away from the road. Anyone else had their horse manage to pull down fencing like this with no marks? I just wish I knew how it had happened.

Thank you DieselDog that makes perfect sense. Where we are we have a lot of deer as we back onto national trust land and farmland. I was wondering what else it could have been. Only hope the poor thing isn't too injured.
