Completely devastated

So very sorry. It really is absolutely devastating and there is no easy way to try to deal with the loss of a much loved pet. I lost my staffie bitch very suddenly some 4 years ago unexpectedly so I know that its not just the pain of loss but also the shock that your dog is suddenly not there any more..

:( So very sorry to hear your sad news. :( Jake was a lovely boy, but you gave him 7 very good years. You made the hardest decision any animal owner has to make, but it was ultimately the best decision. :(

RIP Jake. Sleep tight.

C xx

Thank you all so much: you are all very kind.

I'm horrified to report that we are taking Brig, Jake's brother, to the vet today to investigate a lump. I really hope it's just a cyst or something innocuous. I'll update when we get back.

So sorry for your loss, he was a gorgous dog.
(((((hugs)))) to you for not letting him suffer. That was a very brave desition and he would thankyou for that.
RIP Jake xxxxx

Vet says likely a tumour. It will be removed under general anaesthetic on Monday and biopsied. We'll get results in 7-10 days. Now really panicked. I couldn't bear to lose him too.

Oh no.:(

I know it's hard but please try not to worry too much at this stage - our chocolate lab has just had a tumour removed from her upper jaw and is making a fantastic recovery. Chances are if the vet can get decent margins the tumour will be removed & it will be sorted & there are still other routes if not. The tumour may not even be malignant, you won't know until pathologist has looked at it.

I know it's like waiting for the axe to fall but please do try to remain positive for your dog - I am ashamed to say I made poor Daisy miserable moping about. :(

Best wishes and healthy vibes sent for a speedy & full recovery xxx
