Completely out of interest!!

How do you put on pull on over reach boots!! i bought some and never ever managed to get them on! maybe its pickles dinner plate sized feet didnt help but I cant put them on any horse!! So how do you put them on!!!

turn them inside out and pull them on as if you were pulling them from the widest part first, them turn them over! (not sure if that makes sense)

ahhh ok that may work with smaller ponies still not sure I will ever get them on pickle!! Think I will stick to velcro!

Rub them in baby oil or any oil to hand. That will help facilitate you.

go with the velcro ones! the pull on ones are fine for little neat footed ponies but am thinking your BFG will a) have large feet and b) have heavy feet so not much fun holding them up wrestling with rubber..soz quick reply..

thats what i did with the shire at the yard i worked at. bit of a tugging match but they went on after a while

Stick them in a bucket of hot water for a bit, then turn them inside out and PULL!

i tryed that and they wouldn`t go on helgas.
she was on three legs for about 10 mins with me and a friend pulling and pulling it on so now i give you trying lol

Chuck them in the bin and it will stop you trying the impossible

I buy ones with velcro and also use the next gen rather than rubber versions.

turn inside out stick some vaseline on the edges position yourself so knee into your stomach (don't do this with a unpredictable horse velcro ones far safer then!!) and pull!!! Because you have the knee into your stomach/leg you can really pull as you resist with your body. The vaseline should help make it easier. Wouldn't use baby oil personally as you could just find your hands slipping everywhere

There is definetly a knack to getting them on AND off but once you have it you will wonder why you ever struggled!

Now I am thinking of having a go just to see if I can do the impossible that no one else up the yard seems to manage!!

Allthough pickles huge feet probably arnt the best ones to try out first. May use henrys dainty feet allthough he may bite me before I even get near him!!

Vaseline smeared on them - does rot them aftera long while but was the only way to get the SJ style high top ones over my lads soup dishes!
