Went to a show to help out a girl on our yard and was watching the other horses jumping.

I've always wanted to get back into jumping but ty has taken to running out all the time and I know it's a confidence thing.

So, got back to the yard and thought sod it, I can do this still.

Shorten my stirrups, assumed the hunting position (to guard from scary jumpouts) and had the best time......all he needed was a bit of 'clicking' and few 'goooo oonnn get up' and the boy was popping everything! A few of the girls from the yard where open mouthed and saying 'err you said he couldn't jump'

One of my friends also said that it was the best she'd seen him go since she'd known him - we both absolutely loved it and jumped about 2'3" including planks....

So completely pointless, but think we've found our fortay!

PS - and I was thinking of selling him

I think my massive grin and the way ty carried his head back into the yard said it all - felt like I'd won badminton!

thanks! Hes' very very green (don't think he's done hardly any jumping) but once I started to ride him strongly into the jumps he relaxed and just trusted me to guide him over - I've only ever jumped 'point and go' ponies so it was a big achievement to break a barrier like this.

Hopefully we're going in the right direction now......
