everything has been going so well for prince, after he had lamness workups back in jan/feb and had physio done he has been working really well, he was diagnosed with muscular back discomfort, he had physio and lunged in training aids and has been going really well, took him to his first dressage after time off, he warmed up lush then started being really awkward tilting his head and showing discomfort, i though maybe it was because he was bored of schooling so jumped him and hacked him instead and took him xc schooling, he tilted his head and put one ear back and was very hollow but it was very subtle, then i took out for a hack to the beach which he loves, he stopped on the beach on the way back and refuse to go straight forwards and put any left bend in and felt like he was going to rear which is completley unlike him, and he did it in the school again yesterday :( the saddler cant come out for two weeks and im going to get physio out again but im sooo skint its unreal with the vets bills from him and my dog dislocating her leg. i work for a college so only get paid for term times and the kids seem to get more and more half terms all the time! the saddler is costing £60 just to come to the yard before shes done anything to the saddle! he was going so well and hes just back to square one again!

he had them originally because he was very irregular and i was called up by judges in my tests, so had the vet out for lamness workup and he wasnt lame but wasnt using his hind end properley which was causing tightness over his back making him really irregular and not willing to go forward, there was a chance of kissing spine but the vet and physio agreed it was unlikley because he wasnt in pain when palpated. if he didnt improve he was having x-rays but he did improve but now this has hapened, im hoping its just his saddle as hes ok on the lunge but hes slightly unsettled on the left rein but settles after a few laps.

about a year ago, maybe longer, its been quite a sudden change over two weeks or so. saddlers coming out on the 18th and physio next week, farrier is out on the 8th for shoeing.

Not being funny, but could you be uneven and thus affecting him by how you ride?
My daughters pony began to tilt his head in canter and lean, this was partly caused by her having become uneven due to a sudden growth spurt (she's 10 and tall) causing a few problems all round as one leg was longer than the other and her quad muscles had become very tight especially on her left side (muscle grows slower than bone apparently), so her left leg had become slightly less effective.
Visit to osteopath and some stretching exercises + remembering to be more effective with the left leg has sorted both him and her out.
