Has anybody used a computer programme for sorting results at an event? I helped run a hunter trials this year and one of the biggest headaches was sorting out the winners, getting times etc sorted before everybody left, which meant that many had to leave before we managed to publish the results. The organisers have since been wondering if there’s either a software programme or a user friendly formula for, say, Excel, that would help.

Any thoughts?

Excel is quite easy to use to write you're own formulas, even simple stuff like a "sort" from high to low with dependencies - think about what actions you want it to do then google for it, also, this way it'll be free (well, someone who has excel...but most computers do...) and you don't have to pay for expensive software...
I'm not a walking excel oracle but do use it quite extensively (in fact - it's open at work now!) - but happy to try and help if you need it...
