Lovely Northamptonshire again!

are more or less the final 3 (subject to last-minute substitution of course) I am trying to decide between for my mare (tb 16.3 Alderbrook x Good Thyne) to breed, ideally, an eventer for myself.
Priorities, in order of importance:
great feet, enough bone, enough size (first foal, ideally foal to be big enough for me at 5'9"), excellent conf, excellent temp and trainability, athleticism/movement/jump.
If there is one of these that you would particularly say Yay or Nay to, based on that list, and perhaps on youngstock you have seen of theirs etc, please let me know (by pm if you'd rather), i'd really appreciate it, just don't have time to drive all over the country now!

Personally it would be Caretino Glory all the way!!! Although Condios would be a close second. I LOVE Caretino Glory though. He has it all....the dual purposeness...his sire being a dressage boy and he himself would easily excell at dressage, the amazing jump, the size (16.3), the confo and the incredibly lovely temp. Plus feet are also a HUGE pre-requisite for us and his are superb. His foals are all lovely....forward going and intelligent....we have one boy at home and he is a cracker...he is RufusBlueMoon's Fionn and wow! He was a first foal for his 16.1 mum and at 2 is already standing 16.1 and a half!!! He has inherited a lot from dad...is incredibly elastic and athletic and has soooo much movement still to grow into. Confo wise he is super and well temperament...they don't get any better than his! He was a BEF 1st Premium eventer last year and was also the winner of the PAVO/BEYH yearling In Hand Champs last year...we didn't hand around to do the overall champs as it was a long day for him. This is Fionn

and his web page: http://oakwoodfarmstud.synthasite.com/the-cullinan-diamond.php We will definitely be using him again on his mum at some point.

I have also seen a lot of other Caretino Glory babies, both ridden and as mum's themselves and they are all absolutely superb! These are a couple of his grandkids as they are out of Caretino Glory mares!

If you go along to Brendons I am sure you can see hundreds of his babies!!!

As the owner of the Holsteiner stallion Condios I will say a few things about my stallion.

He is an international showjumper whose best results include winning an international Grand Prix and placing 4th in a World Cup qualifier.

From only 104 foals registered with the Irish Sport Horse Studbook he has produced two international showjumpers and three international eventers. One of his international eventers is ridden by the British rider Jason Hobbs. I'm sure Jason would be keen to tell you his views about Condios if you contact him.

This year two of Condios' progeny have the following results in the Future Event Horse League: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st. And these two progeny are out of a crop of only five foals born in 2005. In previous years his progeny have won and placed highly in the FEHL.

Condios also has produced the 4-year-old National Showjumping Champion for both Ireland and Balmoral (Northern Ireland).

He is approved by 13 studbooks around the world including the Holsteiner Verband, Belgian Warmblood, Oldenburg Verband, Danish Warmblood, AES, the two Irish studbooks, etc. His foals can also be placed in Register A of the KWPN.

His feet are good and we have had no issues with the feet of his progeny. His approval by so many studbooks should speak to his conformation and athleticism. His progeny have been sold to the UK, USA, Middle East, South America, etc.

Condios also comes from a good Holsteiner motherline; Condios has a half-brother that is also an international GP winner.

thankyou for replies.
eventrider23, do you have a side-on conformation shot of CG? i can't find one anywhere and Valerie at the stud did not have 1 she could email me when i rang this morning.
Tom, I will pm you if that's okay please. thankyou.

When I went to the stud to look at CG I saw that he is with the BWP studbook, what is that please? Excuse my ignorance.

it's the Belgian Warmblood Studbook, the "Belgisch Warmbloed Paard".

Since other people have recommended two of the stallions on your list it only seems fair to come forwards and recommend the last one.

Axis is by the international Grand Prix jumper Sixtus. Axis was the best jumper at his grading. However he's been aimed at dressage and is currently winning in Germany at Inter 1 level with high scores and is confidently expected to get to GP in the near future. So he jumps and moves.

He sired Ballzauber, an approved stallion bought by Olympian Darren Chiaccia as an event prospect. Darren competed at the Olympics in eventing on Windfall so he knows what he is looking for in a horse. Axis and Windfall share blood via Habicht, sire of Windfall, grandsire of Axis.

Axis also sired Hirtentanz, another approved stallion and best jumper of his grading. And he is only 10 years old and hasn't had big books of mares.

Volatis's boss has an Axis filly who has won loose jumping championships against all comers and has superb conformation and a lovely temperament.

There are photos of two of his stallions sons on this link: Ballzauber age 4 and Hirtentanz age 5. Axis is a superb stallion and very likely to produce a horse that can excel at eventing.
