Condition of these frogs?

The front right cs looks like there might be a bit of a crack that I’d pack with hoof stuff or similar, I’ve always had better results treating for thrush prophylactically, and actually wish the farrier would take off more frog as I end up doing it .
But I don’t think that’s your lameness cause.

Treat anyway. Does no harm. Use Red Horse products and see if things improve.

I use Red Horse Sole Cleanse twice a week already. It smells nice and hopefully does the job. I take your point about trimming the frog though. Her hind frogs are great - much fatter and wider. I've always thought her front frogs look a bit thin and weak. When I got her seven years ago, she had been standing in a field of mud and had soggy feet and abscesses. Her left frog in particular was a complete mess and still looks, I think, weaker than the other one. She hasn't had an abscess since her first few months here.

Have you done the hoof landing video? Put phone on the floor and walk past it. Still shot the moment of landing and see if it's toe first, flat or heel first. Heel first is what you're aiming for. If a horse is landing heel first, I'd be looking elsewhere than the hoof for lameness.

I'll take a video this weekend. They are out enjoying a new field of grass in the sunshine today and I hadn't the heart to bring her in to film after the last couple of days of awful weather and more time than usual in the stables.

Has she nerve blocked to the foot? Positive to front flexions doesn't sound like navicular...

No, I asked for nerve blocks but the vet didn't think that the lameness was significant enough to give a conclusive result with nerve blocks. It is a bit odd about the front flexions, isn't it - the hind ones were fine.

I suppose the only other "clue" is that she has always had an extravagant trot - with an extra "flick" of the toes and a moment of suspension. It is beautiful to watch, but maybe not so good for her joints. She is a warmblood and, before anyone suggests wobblers, she has no neurological symptoms at all. I wondered about it and asked the vet to check.

Thanks for your reply. I have some hoof stuff so will pack it at the weekend. The ground should be drier by then so I could get some hoofboots on to keep her feet drier and cleaner too.
