Condition pictures of Hannah and Grace

I took the camera down this morning and got some pictures of Hannah and Grace...

Hannah weaned her foal 8 weeks ago and has been coming back into work... she is looking a bit lean to me as I can see the slight outline of her ribs, but I would appreciate your opinions:

Grace has just finished her second week of box rest...

I really wouldnt be worried! Grace looks wonderful! And to me, Hannah looks fine too - yes you can slightly see her ribs, but she isnt a thin horse by any means! They're both lovely!

Considering she has reared a foal she looks very well,mares always get a bit stressed at weaning.

They don't look thin thin, Hannah to me just needs more muscle on her neck back and quarters, Grace just looks as if she has lost muscle on her bum

Hannah doesn't look thin at all to me, just lack of muscle which is no surpise after a long time off work, she looks fab in fact!

Sam is into his second week of box rest now and he hasn't half dropped muscle, esp from his bum! Amazing how quick it drops

They both have a lovely shine!

How is Grace coping with her confinement?

I think Hannah looks pretty good for a mare that's just weaned a foal and Grace also looks fine.

They both look great. I wouldnt worry about Hannah, she just needs to tuck her belly up more which will come with work. They're both very shiney.

Grace is coping fantastically - I am so proud of her! She has had some moments when she has been a bit stressy, but she has been brilliant travelling to Halifax and back when she is having her shock wave treatment.

How is Sam doing?

Thanks... Grace's muscle has dropped off her bottom, but her neck has stayed quite well. She never had a huge amount of muscle on her bottom anyway as we were working on building it up before this
