just out of interest (as just had a good look at my old boy without his rugs on and he looks remarkable fat for this time of year -normally how ever much i feed him he loses condition in the winter) what condition everyones horses are in at the moment, sorry if a bit random

Finni's doing very well this year. Quite proud

I've got 1 moderately thin - always loses weight in winter, but usually loses it November, has only just lost weight this year. In fact I only put her up to full winter feed at Christmas and she has only lost weight since as there is a new horse in the field & she stresses a bit.
The other one is still moderately plump & is still having summer "just enough to put supplements in" rations.
Still have quite a bit of grass but put hay in at night, they are not eating much hay though, about a slice each. Anymore is getting left.

the natives are..well..natives

I think my horse looks fit - what would that make him? he is not thin but he is not fat either. He is well covered and muscled up but being a TB he is shaped like a piece of string.

Bailey (in my sig) is hunting fit and moderately thin
Hänsel the haflinger and Chester the NF are moderately fleshy
Robin the tb and Sparrow the connie are moderate

Mine are all just normal. Nobodys gained or lost weight all year! Usually my TB x loses a tiny bit over the winter but this year (on new high oil feed) he hasnt. All mine are pretty slim as I HATE overweight horses.
