This is my 14yr old TB x Warmblood mare.
Shes generally a very good dooer and in summer will get quite plump, winter will normally drop off a bit which is normal I know.
Last winter was so long that she lost a bit more than I would like.
Shes a great grubber and would eat the lamb of god.
In winter she gets a cup of Agrobs Muesli and a fist of Alfa-A-oil and her supplements.

I have always been afraid to feed anything else as she is very hot, and I dont want to add to her fire! :)
I was trying to think of a feed I can add in that wouldnt have much energy just conditioning?
Any ideas appreciated.

Was thinking that or BluegrassResolve? It has equijewel in it? Just dont want her to start steeplechasing 120 fences :D
We feed it to my sisters SJ'er and my retired pony who is a poor doer, and they both look the best they ever have. No silliness from the oldie at all. My sister's horse is naturally sharp and it doesn't seem to have made him any more sharp on this.
I tried micronised linseed the year before but i didn't find it anywhere near as good.

I use allen and page care and gain, i only use it for short peroids when my horse needs it as she gets too fat on it all year round. Also no fizz

Omega Rice, its marvellous! Been feeding it to my TB who lost some weight for about 4 weeks and he has put on lots! No fizz either....Linseed and Rice bran. Only need a small amount, its s feed topper as such.

Omega can advise you on quantities depending how much condition you want to put on.

I use Equijewel on my QH to stop him dropping off as he tends to in winter. Doesn't fizz him up.

I have also used Copra with good results but really do rate Equijewel

Somebody mentioned Omega Rice recently in another thread. Slow releasing energy and is more of a feed topper, so you can chuck a handful in or whatever… That might fit the bill?

EDITED: Just saw it mentioned upthread, oops :)

My hot Arab's were fine on micronised linseed and copra never tried Equijewel but have used it on other horses and they didn't get silly on it.

Mine can't have conditioning nuts or mix it sends them stupid tried various brands over the years and all had the same effect.
