A friend has bought a lovely yearling who’s come to live with me and my yearling. He’s arrived in fairly poor condition, which wouldn’t concern me if Spring was around the corner, but as it’s the middle of winter he needs a bit of a helping hand to gain some condition. He’s been wormed (and worm counted), and she’s had a vet check him over (vet also commented on body condition score) - I just think the previous owner didn’t keep a close enough eye on his weight as the weather changed nor understood feed requirements for youngstock.
I currently feed my own yearling Saracens Stamm30 with a handful of chaff, so that’s what he’s been getting but I’ve added some fibreBeet and linseed to his feed (as I have that in my feed room for my other horses). Just wandering if there’s a conditioning mash that’s better than the fibreBeet to give him ?
Thanks x
