Spaniel 1 - Cone of Shame nil

He managed to smoosh it up and bite it through the slots that you use to fasten it together and the proceeded to tow himself around the house giving it a good beating in the process. Have taken it off as it was just getting really silly.

He's got a sheath infection. And needs to be prevented from licking his bits!!! Lovely creature.

Would one of the inflatable collars work instead? I'm wondering about a pair of pants but suspect he might just take them off and eat them.

Not even the problem I originally took him to the vets for! That has turned out to be just a fatty lump fortunately!

Anyway. I'm going to try pants and see what happens. Just need to remember to take them off before letting him outside!

Any cone of shame ideas appreciated. Picking up antibiotics tomorrow!!

Get the inflatable cushion thing, yes. Much nicer. There’s also an incontinence press stud affair with pads which we used for big dog when he started dripping. It would cover the penis and hopefully stop him chewing. Lots on eBay/Amazon.

We got an inflatable cushion for the Rotter when she had destroyed the cone by the time she got to the car in the vet's carpark! It worked very well but was much more comfy for her - and for us when she caught our legs!

I had not thought of incontinence products, that's a good shout. Will see if I can get anything from PAH tomorrow then hit Amazon if I can't. Vet hasn't given me a clue as to how long I need to stop him licking for. I hadn't realised how much he was licking until just this evening trying to stop him! Poor grubby boy.

My dog has just had to wear one for 2 weeks. If I'd known it was going to be that long, I'd have ordered a better collar. I used to have one of the inflatables and it was really good and more comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, it had been living in a drawer and I chucked it out during one of my tidying up days.
The cones the vets send them home in are awful things.

My Dobie chewed her way out of the dreaded cone!
When Mabel was spayed she was in an all over suit thing, which you could unpopper for wees etc.

Pen had one of those, we called it her Catwoman suit.
I'm just wondering if he needs to have his gunky bits open to the air, having them warm and wet inside something might not help the infection? ()

I know. I wasn't sure if covering him up would just make things worse. I failed to get an inflatable collar and the delivery dates on everything up here takes so bloody long I'm not so sure there's any point! Am just going to hope the antibiotics clear it up.

Couldn't even source a pool noodle in a hurry.

Try the rolled towel as a temporary measure?
